Positive: The apartment is very nice, well equipped. Looks better than the photos, we were pleasantly surprised on the first day. A good king size bed, blinds in the bedroom. Spacious living room and a very comfortable sofa. Kitchen is very well equipped as well. Apartment is very clean and quiet. Even though it’s in a remote village it’s fairly accessible with 15 mins bus ride to ettlebreck every hour.
We appreciate the late checkout.
Negative: Many of the amenities included in the listing were actually missing: there was no toilet paper at all, no shampoo and shower gel, and there were no ironing facilities, iron, or slippers, either.
We are very disappointed with the way the host communicates. When we first arrived, we asked if there are extra towels, iron and ironing facilities because these are included in the listing. We got the reply "we are not a hotel".
The bedroom is very hot at night, we had to keep the door open. However because there are no blinds on the living room windows, the light shines right through the bedroom door. The cheap polyester bedding only made the heat worse.
Because it’s next to farms and rivers, there are a lot of mosquitos at night. For the first half of the stay we had to get up 4-5 times to kill mosquitos at night.
It’s only towards the end of the stay, we adjusted to the way life is there and made our own little aircon with fan and ice cubes, managed to keep mosquitoes away by closing all windows during the day and spending half an hour catching them before bed.
For such a beautiful apartment, a lot could be done to improve the comfort of stay there.
